Changing gene database doesn't work

Changing the gene database (data->select gene database) doesn't seem to have effect on search and the backpage. They still show the results from the previous database.

Reproduce:

• open a mouse pathway, select the mouse gene database
• click a gene, confirm that you see the description and xrefs
• select another gene database (e.g. zebrafish)

Observed results:

1. click a gene and note that the backpage still shows the mouse data
2. search for a gene (e.g. TP53), note that the results show mouse genes.

I'm not sure how this affects data import.

I observed this in the computer room at maastricht university, have to confirm it on my laptop.

I think this is a duplicate of #1004, could you check?

Looks like it, except for the observation that the search resulted in xrefs from multiple species. But I can't replicate that on my laptop, so I'm still marking this as duplicate.
